Hello from Mazunte, Mexico!

It’s been a long time, hasn’t it. That isn’t to say I haven’t been drawing and painting—-In the last month and a half I moved to a new house and we are still getting the internet hooked up. Now I am taking a little vacation in Oaxaca and Mazunte, and will be returning on Monday. Hopefully the internet will be ready by then, and I can post all I’ve been working on!

Two little illustrations to accompany Amelia’s Magazine’s coverage of Graduate Fashion week. The whole time I was doing them, I thought “God Celine, why do you always have to be so weird and take something perfectly simple and get all creepy and narrative on your art director?” But I like how they turned out a lot so I don’t feel too guilty about it.

Layer Cake

Back in April I was part of a group show called “Layer Cake”, and I now finally have the time to post some photos!

That’s “Robin Hood” and “Shy Blue Dancer” furthest to the left, right next to the brilliant Annie Wu’s work.

This past week has been filled with hanging my thesis show, talking to art directors, graduating in full regalia, and taking my show down. Today marks my first real day as a full time freelance artist. It’s the first day of work. Monday night as I stumbled home full of french food and accomplishment, I saw that a package had arrived for me. It was the two paintings I bought from Sarah Ferrick!

Now that they are hanging over my drawing table, compelling me to spend more time there, I thought it was time to show some photos of my home studio.

P. Wolf and the Ridiculous Fox, and Rapidash Swarmed By Pikachu can be seen just below the shelf.

at some point I'll hang them more cleverly.

The painting itself was fine, but this is the first time I've been able to get a decent scan. All my previous attemps came out looking way too neon green/yellow.
